A KUDOS Folder for Compliment Notes | Lent Prep | Easter Prep

For your family binder / Relationship Binder, create a KUDOS folder to letters written with the following templates:

1. The You Saved My Sanity Notes

"NAME, I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you for helping with [Project/Task] yesterday. Your [specific skill, e.g., insight on the data/quick turn-around] really saved me a ton of stress and I felt appreciated and part of your life team."

2. The "Public Recognition" (For Slack or a Group Channel)

"Huge shout-out to [Name] for jumping in on [Task] today. They managed to [Specific Result] which is going to make the rest of this week much smoother for everyone in the family/group. Thanks for the assist!"

3. The "Direct & Professional" (For an Email)

"Hi [Name], I wanted to formally thank you for your support on [Project]. Your contribution was a key part of reaching out goal. I value your expertise and the input you shared. I love having you on the team and Look forward to our next group/family project/goal."

Formatting Your Kudos Folder

When you save your letters in your Kudos folder, try adding a "Context Tag" to each one. In six months, around Christmas and around their birthdays, you might remember who helped, but you might forget the exact impact.

Example Entry:

  • Who: [Name]

  • What: Helped with the holiday Budget Pivot.

  • Impact: Saved me 4 hours of manual data entry.

  • Draft: "I was just looking back at the holiday/vacation goal and wanted to remind you how much I appreciated your help with the pivot in the budget. It made a huge difference in our savings and being able to enjoy a summer vacation!
