Practice observing for Kudo Moments
Morning
Start the day by monitoring your emotional state and being aware of your schedule.
Self-Check: Take a few minutes to identify how you are feeling and what your top priorities are for the day and whether they involve someone else. "What is my 'why' today?"
Active Observation: Before your first social interaction that may involve your goals, remind yourself to use empathy and active listening.
Mid-Day
You are engaging with the world, use feedback loops and a daily goal to accomplish.
Actions: Don’t just plan in the abstract, complete a goal. Focus on quality and whether anyone helped you complete your daily goal.
The Feedback Loop (Openness): When someone offers you a suggestion or a critique, practice being an active listener. You may disagree with them. If you have the habit of saying no first, let your colleagues know that a no from you is an initial answer and may be revised with information.
Evening
Wrap up the day by connecting with others. Do you have Kudos you can share.
Express Gratitude: Send a quick text or email to a friend or colleague acknowledging something specific they did well.
Daily Review: Reflect on your day and write down Kudos or positive relationship events of the day.
